The National Hubs Concept is a proposition of FIRE-IN consortium in order to overcome the limitations of COVID-19 meetings and travelling. Instead of organizing or participating to large European or International events, a series of smaller more local (national) events will be organized by the partners of FIRE-IN.

 

INVITATION to the conference “Innovations and new technologies in rescue and fire protection

The Main School of Fire Service and Scientific and Research Centre For Fire Protection National Research Institute

have a great honour to invite to the

international conference disseminating the results of the project “FIRE-IN: Fire and Rescue Innovation Network” implemented under the Horizon 2020, focused on innovation and new technologies in rescue and fire protection.

The event will take place on 13th (Wednesday) April 2022 from 09:00 to 13:15 (CEST) remotely (using the MsTeams® platform).

The aim of the event is to disseminate the results of the work carried out in the project and to exchange experiences between representatives of science, practitioners in the field of rescue, as well as manufacturers of modern solutions in the field of security.

During the conference, representatives of the Fire Service and producers of the modern technology sector will demonstrate solutions used in practice. During the meeting also there will be discussed amongst others issues about standardization, the application of unmanned aerial vehicles and VR in rescue operations, as well as requirements for the preparation of facilities for occurrence of fire hazards.

The main language of the conference will be English. Participation is totally free of charge.

Results of the event (Event agenda):

On the 13th of April 2022 the Main School of Fire Service and the Scientific and Research Center for Fire Protection – National Research Institute organized an event disseminating the results of the project “FIRE-IN: Fire and Rescue Innovation Network”. During the conference were presented topics related to, strengths and weaknesses of technologies used during international missions, high pressure fog extinguishing and cutting system as well as simulation techniques in the teaching process for crisis management.

International conference “Innovation and new technologies in rescue and fire protection” was organized as part of the “National Hub Event” series of the “Fire-In: Fire and Rescue Innovation Network” project. The online event on the MS Teams platform was attended by over 100 participants from 9 countries: firefighting representative, practitioners, scientists, constructors and manufacturers of modern solutions in the field of safety and rescue. 12 speakers, representing both private companies and public institutions, gave their presentations.

The conference was opened by the SGSP project coordinator, brig Piotr Tofiło, who welcomed the participants and presented achievements and the results of the Fire-In project. Then Ms Joanna Sadowska took the floor, presenting the topic “Standardization – real needs”.

Next Mr. Rafał Sołowin gave a lecture entitled “Strengths and weaknesses of technologies used in international missions” (Presentation PDF). As part of the topic “Firefighting activities from the practitioners point of view”, Zena Chahine – the first woman in the fire brigade in Lebanon – shared her experience in rescue operations (Presentation PDF). After that Mr Tomasz Węsierski talked about the mobile turbine rescue and extinguishing system. Mrs Magdalena Gikiewicz discussed the results of the EU-SENSE project – “European Sensor System for CBRN Applications”. After a short break and discution panel Mr Paweł Matczak presented the topic “AirDron – air condition monitoring”. Next Mr Wojciech Górecki gave a presentation entitled “Command Suitcase” the solution created as a result of a real need ” (Presentation PDF). The topic “Fire risk analysis in buildings using Monte Carlo simulations” was presented by Mr Adam Krasuski. Mr Wojciech Węgrzyński made a presentation on “Firefighter Intervention in tall timber buildings – a critical element of structural fire safety”. Rafał Jakubczyk presented the topic “The use of simulation techniques in the teaching process for crisis management” (Presentation PDF). The last speech was presented by Dariusz Stachlewski “Extinguishing and cutting high pressure fog system with additional fittings”.

The participants actively participated in the discussion panel and expressed their interest in the presented issues.
